Good to Have on Hand

  • The origin and destination addresses, plus your floor at each end
  • Anything heavy or bulky, a gun safe, a piano, oversized furniture
  • Any COI the building wants, reserved elevators, or gate codes
  • Your target date and how much room it has to move

Winter is no reason to delay, an early start, cleared and salted paths, and shrink-wrap on every piece let a January move go as smoothly as one in June.

01 Common questions
Do you actually run the moves yourselves?
We do. Simpson Brothers Moving is an owner-run, fully licensed and insured mover out of Lawrence, MA, working our own trucks with uniformed crews and carrying a Massachusetts DPU household-goods license alongside US DOT and MC authority.
What's the price on a local move?
Two movers and a truck run $145 an hour, three run $205, both with a one-hour minimum, and you'll know the number well before the move happens.
How is a flat quote put together?
We tally it room by room, factor in the home's size and how easily each doorway reaches, and write the single figure down. From the moment the crew begins, that price stays put and never edges up.
What locks in my date on the schedule?
Your date is held with a $100 deposit, which then comes off your final bill in full. Quoting it costs you nothing.
Do you hold the proper license and insurance?
Yes. On top of being fully licensed and insured, Simpson Brothers carries a Massachusetts DPU license and US DOT and MC authority, and only our own payroll crew ever handles your move.
Will you move in winter?
All year. We start early, watch the forecast, salt and clear the walkways, and shrink-wrap every item, so a snowy-day move is just as safe as one in summer.
What is your service area?
Across Lawrence, the Merrimack Valley, and Essex County, reaching from Methuen and Dracut to Andover, North Andover, Haverhill, and over the line into Salem, NH.
When it's a long-distance run, will other households' things ride on the truck with mine?
No. The whole shipment rides by itself on a truck we own, never a shared trailer, so the crew that loads it is also the one unloading at the destination.
Do you take on heavy pieces like safes and pianos?
All the time. Our lead crew chief, Marcus, pads and straps gun safes, framed art, and pianos of every sort, then rolls them out on dollies built for the weight.
Could my move end up handed to an outside carrier or another company?
No chance. As a genuine Lawrence outfit with our own trucks and a uniformed payroll crew, we let no outside party into your job. It's ours end to end, first carton to last.
02 Why us

A local crew, never a middleman

Choose us and the trucks, the people, and the name on the job are all ours. A broker takes your job, hands it off to whatever carrier bids lowest, and disappears once the paperwork is signed.

Simpson Brothers Moving
  • Our own trucks, staffed by a vetted, full-time crew
  • One written flat rate, what we quote is what you owe
  • Whoever loads your home is who unloads it at the other end
  • Insured, licensed, and operating under US DOT and MC authority
  • A single local office and one point of contact the whole way through
The typical broker
  • Hands your job to whichever carrier underbids the rest
  • Surprise fees and a re-quote dropped on you at move day
  • People you never dealt with arrive to do the loading
  • No one can tell you who actually carries the liability
  • A call center in the place of an actual local crew
